A Working Town Between Runway and Port

Epoxy flooring in Dania Beach serves a town with a lot going on in a small area. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is in Dania Beach, and part of Port Everglades lies within its limits. The town also reaches the Atlantic on its eastern edge. Incorporated as Dania in 1904 by mostly Danish-American farmers, it was once called the Tomato Capital of the World and later the Antique Capital of the South for the shops along Federal Highway.

Warehouse and logistics floors

Port Everglades handled about 1.17 million TEUs of container cargo in fiscal 2025 and is a major petroleum hub for South Florida. That kind of trade fills the area with warehouses, fleet yards and service shops. Their floors take forklift traffic, pallet drops, fuel and hydraulic fluid. We look at:

  • Build thickness in drive aisles and at dock doors.
  • Chemical resistance for fuel, oil and cleaning products.
  • Line striping and safety zones coated into the system.
  • Joint repair so forklift wheels do not chip slab edges.

Shops on Antique Row

Retail spaces along Federal Highway want floors that look good and hold up under foot traffic and heavy furniture being dragged across. A flake or solid-color system with a tough topcoat does that, and it can be done in phases so the shop stays open.

Homes on low, mixed ground

Elevation here is about 10 feet, and mangroves line the coast. The 2020 census counted 16,377 housing units, 18.0% of them vacant, and many are older homes or condos. Garages here range from slabs poured decades ago to new townhomes near Dania Pointe. We test each for moisture and hardness, then prep to match.

Storm history

The 1926 hurricane hurt neighboring Hollywood so badly that most of Dania seceded from it and reincorporated in 1927. Hurricane Wilma in 2005 caused about $1.2 billion in damage across Broward. A coated floor will not keep a storm out, but a sealed, nonporous surface cleans up faster after water gets in.

Dania Beach Questions

What coating suits a warehouse near Port Everglades?

Usually a thick 100% solids epoxy or a urethane system with chemical resistance and safety striping. We heavy up drive aisles and dock areas and repair joints first.

Can you coat a retail shop without closing it?

Often yes. Splitting the floor into sections, working after hours or on a weekend, and choosing fast-cure topcoats all help a space reopen quickly.

Do you coat condo garages and storage rooms?

We do when the building approves the work. Association rules on noise, hours and access come first.

Does living near the airport affect a garage floor?

Not directly. What matters more is the slab's moisture, age and condition, plus how you use the space. We test and inspect before we recommend a system.
